Located to the north of Gamla Stan is a bustling modern area, which has become the commercial heart of the city, being full of offices, bars, eateries and shops. The Kungsholmen area of Stockholm is particularly spacious and attractive, containing large parklands, exclusive stores and the imposing town hall.
A number of waterfront attractions can be found in the Gustav Adolfs Torg area of Stockholm, such as the eye-catching 19th-century Opera House, which is known locally as the 'Operan'. Further regions include South Stockholm, which incorporates a number of boroughs, such as Enskede-Årsta, Farsta and Skarpnäck, and also West Stockholm, home to Bromma, Hässelby-Vällingby, Kista, Rinkeby and Spånga-Tensta.
